DISCIPLINE CONSEQUENCES
BOWIE JR HIGH
2008-2009

DH – D-hall (Cafeteria during lunch period/sack lunch)
ISS – On Campus Suspension
SUSPENSION – Out of School (Home Suspension)
AEP – Alternative Center (10-30 Days)
CP-Corporal Punishment (Swats)

These are guidelines that are subject to change at any time.
All consequences may be adjusted by administration due to severity of infraction.

INSUBORDINATION/DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR/DISRESPECT
  1. 1st Referral -1 Day ISS or Option of Swats
  2. 2nd Referral -2  Days ISS (Refer to Counselor)
  3. 3rd Referral - 5  Days ISS
  4. 4th  Referral - 10  Days AEP (Chronic Misconduct)
  5. 5th Referral – 15 days AEP
FAILURE TO ATTEND ADMIN D-HALL
  1. 1st Offense   -  Two additional days of Admin D-Hall
  2. 2nd Offense  -  1 Day of ISS or Option of Swats
  3. 3rd Offense  -  2 Days of ISS or Option of Swats
  4. 4th Offense  -  5 Days of ISS
  5. 5th Offense – 10 Days AEP
DRUGS/ALCOHOL
  1. 1st Offense – 20 Days AEP and Possible Ticket from Police Dept.
  2. 2nd Offense- 30 Days AEP and Possible Ticket from Police Dept.
  3. 3rd Offense- 40 Days AEP and Possible Ticket from Police Dept.
TOBACCO, PROFANITY, VULGARITY, OBSENITY, PORNOGRAPHY
  1. 1st Offense- 10 Days AEP and Possible Ticket from Police Dept.
  2. 2nd Offense-15 Days AEP and Possible Ticket from Police Dept.
  3. 3rd Offense- 20 Days AEP and Possible Ticket from Police Dept.
  4. 4th Offense- 30 Days AEP and Possible Ticket from Police Dept.
HAZING/INITIATION/BULLYING
  1. 1st Offense-2 Days ISS or Option of SWATS
  2. 2nd Offense-4 Days ISS
  3. 3rd Offense-5 Days ISS
  4. 10 Days AEP as Chronic Misconduct
(Any physical contact that results in injury will be considered assault)

VIOLATION OF SCHOOL ATTENDANCE (Court Filing for Failure to Attend)
  1. 1st Offense- 1 Day of ISS
  2. 2nd Offense-2 Day of ISS
  3. 3rd Offense- 3 Day of ISS
  4. 4th Offense- 10 Days of AEP
HARRASSMENT/HORSE PLAY (Racial, Verbal, Sexual) PDA (Public Display of Affection)
  1. 1st Offense- 1 Day of D-Hall
  2. 2nd Offense-2 Days D-Hall (Refer to Counselor)
  3. 3rd Offense-1 Day of ISS
  4. 4th Offense- 2 Days of ISS
  5. 5th Offense- 4 Days of ISS
GRAFFITI/PERMANENT MARKERS
  1. 1st Offense-1 Day ISS, Confiscate Markers, Remove Graffiti
  2. 2nd Offense- 2 Days ISS, Confiscate Markers, Remove Graffiti
  3. 3rd Offense- 4 Days ISS, Confiscate Markers, Remove Graffiti

FIGHTING/ASSAULT
  1. 1st Offense - 10  Days AEP, Ticket from Police Dept

CELL PHONES
  1. Per cell phone policy in Student Handbook/Code of Conduct

DRESS CODE VIOLATIONS
  1. 1st Offense - Conference, Student Changes Clothes (wait in ISS – parent contact)
  2. 2nd Offense - Student Changes, 1 Day D-Hall (wait in ISS – parent contact)
  3. 3rd Offense - Student Changes, 2 Days D-Hall
  4. 4th Offense - Student Changes, 2 Days ISS
