Scholastic Book Fair Nov. 1 - 5 **To search titles from our collection, open BISD Library Catalogs, or its page, or the Links page, listed in upper right-hand corner. Welcome to the BJHS Library, located on the second floor of BJHS. The library media center contains approximately 6,500 fiction, nonfiction and reference books. In addition to nonfiction books and computer resources to support research, we have an extensive fiction collection for class assignments and recreational reading. Our collections encourage pre-teens and teens to read for pleasure and self-awareness, and support the school curriculum. They also are intended to support students' transition from children's to young adult materials. Students have unrestricted use of library materials. The librarian and teachers may guide students in their selections, but ultimately, parents and guardians are responsible for overseeing their child's exposure to and use of materials. There are six computer stations. Students use such programs as Microsoft Word, Accelerated Reader, Winnebago Card Catalog and databases for class projects throughout the day. We subscribe to TexShare which includes informative junior high level databases featuring EBSCO and Britannica encyclopedias, periodicals, television & radio broadcasts, and more. Password information available in the library and computer lab. Our databases are accessible outside of school.
